Botox for Hyperhidrosis FAQs

Similar to Botox in the face, patients start to experience reduced perspiration a few days after treatment, with full results at 2-3 weeks after treatment.

Results typically last for 4-9 months following treatment.

Botox units are priced the same whether they are used on the face or for hyperhidrosis. Your provider will let you know how many units are needed after talking with you about your needs.

Botox for hyperhidrosis is not typically covered by insurance. However, in cases where excessive sweating is caused by an underlying medical condition or when hyperhidrosis hasn’t responded to other treatments, insurance may cover Botox treatment.

After each treatment, a moisturizer can be applied to the affected area. If you wish, a bandage can be used to cover the scar for the first 24 hours following treatment.
