Laser Hair Removal Treatment FAQs
How long before I see results?
The number of treatments depends on your hair. Most patients see their desired results after 6-8 treatments.
Does laser hair removal work on all types and colors of hair?
During treatment, the laser activates the pigment in the hair to stop hair growth right at the follicle. This means that dark hair (brown or black) responds well to laser treatment, while lighter colors of hair lack the pigment needed for treatment. Your provider can let you know if laser hair removal will work on your hair type and color.
How long does laser hair removal last?
Many of our patients see 90% reduction in hair growth after as few as 6 sessions. A touchup session may be desired every few years to maintain results.
What is treatment like? Does laser hair removal hurt?
At the start of your session, your provider will assess your hair and adjust the Broadband LightTM (BBL) device based on the strength of treatment needed. They will then place the BBL device against your skin and you’ll hear a pulse as the device is activated. There may be slight discomfort, similar to a mild pinprick, but many patients find laser hair removal less painful than other methods, like waxing or threading.
Is laser hair removal safe?
Laser hair removal at Kalon is extremely safe. Our aestheticians use the same laser that is used for BBL procedures, making treatments easily tolerable for patients.
