Chemical Peel FAQs
What does a chemical peel do?
A precise blend of various acids is applied to your skin. These chemicals stimulate your body’s process of cell turnover. As old, outer skin cells flake away, or peel, new cells are generated and become the fresh, new surface.
How does it feel?
Our chemical peels offer varying levels of intensity ranging from light to intense. The lightest peels may only cause a warming sensation. With these least aggressive peels, turnover occurs at the cellular level, and you may not see any visible “peeling.” You can return to work or go out for an evening on the town after this type of peel.
The more aggressive and intense peels treat the deepest layers of skin and will result in 5 to 10 days of visible peeling. Visit with your provider to find out which level will provide the best results for you.
How many peels will I need?
Your skin type and goals determine how often you can be treated. To obtain the best results, schedule a consultation.
How should I care for my skin after treatment?
Aftercare is determined by the intensity of the peel you choose. In general, you’ll want to avoid sunlight and heat, but your provider will customize an aftercare plan for you that includes a kit to help take care of your skin for the best results!
