Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive treatment that results in brighter, smoother skin. It is safe for most skin types and colors. During your appointment, your aesthetician will use a medical-grade, diamond-tip wand that is gauged to your skin type. The procedure reduces skin roughness by gently removing dead layers of skin. Without this layer of old skin cells, your body is encouraged to produce new, healthy collagen. Microdermabrasion improves the overall texture of your skin in ways at-home exfoliation cannot. As an added benefit, your skin will better absorb your routine skincare products after your treatment.

Microdermabrasion FAQs

Microdermabrasion is mechanical form of exfoliation that uses a medical-grade, diamond-tip wand to exfoliate the surface of your skin on a cellular level. Dead or unhealthy tissue is removed from the treatment area, leaving behind healthy, glowing skin. Microdermabrasion also smooths skin by encouraging new collagen growth.

Microdermabrasion targets and exfoliates the top layers of skin and can be effective in treating texture issues like dullness or unevenness.

Depending on your skincare goals, you may choose to schedule microdermabrasion appointments every 2 to 4 weeks. Microdermabrasion may be used in conjunction with other treatments to achieve certain goals. Before treatment, we recommend a consultation with a member of the Kalon team.

Both microdermabrasion and DiamondGlow dermalinfusion use a diamond-tip wand for exfoliation, but DiamondGlow also injects serums into the skin and extracts impurities. Microdermabrasion alone is a ”dry” treatment and can be combined with both facials and chemical peels for enhanced results.

Microdermabrasion does not cause any peeling or redness and you may return to your routine immediately after your appointment. You should avoid direct sun exposure and wear SPF for at least 1 week as your skin may be more sensitive. Avoid retinols and harsh exfoliants and use a moisturizer to hydrate your skin following microdermabrasion.
